It's okay to say NO, nicely of course...

Saying no to administration can be really hard, especially if you are a new teacher and want to make a good impression....BUT IT WILL BURN YOU OUT if you say yes to everything. In your first year you can say yes to one committee, coverages (extra pay), and going to a PTO sponsored event. I said yes to EVERYTHING when I first started in 2016. 3 years later, I will admit I am a little exhausted..lol.

As my third year is ending, I am backing away from a lot. I still have that urge though to say yes when someone needs something because that is just my personality haha. Take away advice: Try to limit what you want to take on in your first year and years on. You do not want to burn yourself out because then you'll lose the drive because you are so tired. Stay strong. Take mental breaks when needed. <3
